Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced PCU Registered Nurse to provide care for patients who require closer monitoring and a higher level of care than a traditional medical-surgical unit. The RN will provide telemetry monitoring, administer medications and treatments, recognize changes in patient condition, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
  • Continuously monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, oxygenation, neurological status, and patient condition.
  • Provide telemetry monitoring and recognize abnormal cardiac rhythms or clinical changes.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments.
  • Care for patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring and interventions.
  • Manage oxygen therapy and other respiratory support as appropriate to the unit.
  • Monitor laboratory and diagnostic results and communicate significant changes to providers.
  • Recognize and respond promptly to patient deterioration and emergencies.
  • Provide wound care, catheter care, drain management, and other nursing interventions.
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, procedures, and discharge planning.
  • Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, disease management, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and organizational policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Current ACLS certification required/preferred based on assignment requirements.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, Step-Down, Telemetry, or acute-care nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring, medical-surgical nursing, and intermediate-level patient care.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, critical-thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
  • Experience with EMR systems preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BSN preferred.
  • Previous PCU, Step-Down, Telemetry, or acute-care hospital experience.
  • Experience caring for cardiac, respiratory, post-surgical, and medically complex patients.
  • Experience with telemetry, IV medications, oxygen therapy, and high-acuity monitoring.
  • ACLS certification preferred.
  • Strong teamwork and prioritization skills.
  • Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Pay Rate
$60.47 - $65.35/hour
