Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced PCU Registered Nurse to provide care for patients who require closer monitoring and a higher level of care than a traditional medical-surgical unit. The RN will provide telemetry monitoring, administer medications and treatments, recognize changes in patient condition, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
- Continuously monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, oxygenation, neurological status, and patient condition.
- Provide telemetry monitoring and recognize abnormal cardiac rhythms or clinical changes.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments.
- Care for patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring and interventions.
- Manage oxygen therapy and other respiratory support as appropriate to the unit.
- Monitor laboratory and diagnostic results and communicate significant changes to providers.
- Recognize and respond promptly to patient deterioration and emergencies.
- Provide wound care, catheter care, drain management, and other nursing interventions.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, procedures, and discharge planning.
- Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, disease management, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and organizational policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Current ACLS certification required/preferred based on assignment requirements.
- Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, Step-Down, Telemetry, or acute-care nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring, medical-surgical nursing, and intermediate-level patient care.
- Excellent clinical judgment, critical-thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
- Experience with EMR systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN preferred.
- Previous PCU, Step-Down, Telemetry, or acute-care hospital experience.
- Experience caring for cardiac, respiratory, post-surgical, and medically complex patients.
- Experience with telemetry, IV medications, oxygen therapy, and high-acuity monitoring.
- ACLS certification preferred.
- Strong teamwork and prioritization skills.

Pay Rate
$60.47 - $65.35/hour
