PACU Registered Nurse (RN)
We are seeking a skilled PACU Registered Nurse to provide specialized post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery and anesthesia.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor patients recovering from anesthesia.
- Monitor vital signs, airway, cardiac rhythm, pain, and level of consciousness.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as prescribed.
- Manage pain, nausea, and post-operative complications.
- Monitor airway and respiratory status and respond to emergencies.
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and the healthcare team.
- Prepare patients for transfer or discharge according to established criteria.
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program.
- Active RN license as required by state regulations.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- PALS certification preferred.
- Previous PACU, ICU, ED, or critical-care experience preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong post-anesthesia and critical-care assessment skills.
- Excellent airway management and emergency response skills.
- Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork.
- Ability to remain calm in high-acuity situations.
- Strong pain management and patient-monitoring skills.
Pay Rate
$62.75 - $67.63/hour
