PACU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled PACU Registered Nurse to provide specialized post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery and anesthesia.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and monitor patients recovering from anesthesia.
  • Monitor vital signs, airway, cardiac rhythm, pain, and level of consciousness.
  • Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as prescribed.
  • Manage pain, nausea, and post-operative complications.
  • Monitor airway and respiratory status and respond to emergencies.
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and the healthcare team.
  • Prepare patients for transfer or discharge according to established criteria.
  • Educate patients and families on post-operative care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing program.
  • Active RN license as required by state regulations.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • PALS certification preferred.
  • Previous PACU, ICU, ED, or critical-care experience preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong post-anesthesia and critical-care assessment skills.
  • Excellent airway management and emergency response skills.
  • Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork.
  • Ability to remain calm in high-acuity situations.
  • Strong pain management and patient-monitoring skills.

Pay Rate
$62.75 - $67.63/hour
