Medical Laboratory Technician (Generalist)
Perform a broad range of clinical laboratory tests to support the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patients. The Medical Laboratory Technician Generalist will process specimens, perform testing across multiple laboratory areas, maintain equipment, and ensure accurate and timely results.
Responsibilities
- Collect, receive, process, and prepare patient specimens for testing.
- Perform routine testing in areas such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and urinalysis.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Review and verify test results for accuracy and completeness.
- Perform quality control procedures and troubleshoot testing issues.
- Identify and report abnormal or critical results according to established protocols.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
- Follow laboratory safety, infection control, and quality standards.
- Assist with inventory management and maintain adequate laboratory supplies.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers regarding test results and specimen requirements.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Current MLT certification/license as required by the state.
- ASCP or equivalent certification preferred.
- Previous generalist laboratory experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Pay Rate
$45.22 - $50.10/hour
