Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support surgical teams by preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile environment, and assisting surgeons during a variety of surgical procedures. The CST will ensure instruments, supplies, and equipment are readily available to promote safe and efficient patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room with sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment for scheduled procedures
- Maintain a sterile field and adhere to aseptic techniques throughout surgery
- Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies during procedures
- Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts according to surgical protocols
- Prepare, inspect, and organize surgical instruments and equipment before and after procedures
- Assist with patient positioning, surgical site preparation, and specimen handling
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments according to established standards
- Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory guidelines in the operating room
- Participate in emergency and on-call surgical procedures as required
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required or as required by the state or facility
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum 1 year of recent operating room or surgical technologist experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, sterile technique, and aseptic practices
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operating room environment
Pay Rate
$52.85 - $57.72/hour
