Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) with expertise in outpatient hand therapy and the flexibility to provide inpatient rehabilitation coverage as needed. The therapist will evaluate and treat patients with upper extremity injuries and conditions while also delivering comprehensive occupational therapy services to hospitalized patients. This role requires strong clinical skills, adaptability, and a patient-centered approach to care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations for outpatient hand therapy and inpatient rehabilitation patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and functional goals.
  • Evaluate and treat patients with hand, wrist, elbow, and upper extremity orthopedic, neurological, and post-surgical conditions.
  • Fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints as appropriate.
  • Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, edema management, scar management, range of motion, strengthening, and fine motor interventions.
  • Float to inpatient units as needed to provide occupational therapy evaluations and treatments.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, adaptive equipment, joint protection, energy conservation, and injury prevention.
  • Recommend adaptive equipment and environmental modifications to improve patient independence.
  • Maintain accurate evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the state of practice.
  • Current NBCOT certification required.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of recent occupational therapy experience, including outpatient hand therapy and/or inpatient rehabilitation, preferred.
  • Experience with upper extremity rehabilitation, custom splint fabrication, and post-surgical hand therapy.
  • Strong knowledge of orthopedic, neurological, and rehabilitation principles.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.

Pay Rate
$68.09 - $72.97/hour
