Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Outpatient/Hand Occupational Therapist (OT) to evaluate and treat patients with upper extremity, hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder conditions. The Occupational Therapist will develop individualized treatment plans, provide evidence-based therapy, fabricate custom splints, and collaborate with physicians and the rehabilitation team to restore function, reduce pain, and improve patients' quality of life.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations for upper extremity and hand conditions
  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals
  • Provide therapeutic interventions for post-surgical recovery, orthopedic injuries, tendon and nerve repairs, fractures, arthritis, repetitive strain injuries, and other upper extremity conditions
  • Fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints as appropriate
  • Administer manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, edema management, scar management, range of motion, strengthening, and dexterity training
  • Educate patients on home exercise programs, joint protection techniques, ergonomic principles, and injury prevention
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans to maximize functional outcomes
  • Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and quality improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
  • Promote patient independence and functional recovery through compassionate, patient-centered care

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the state of practice
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Current NBCOT certification required
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent outpatient or hand therapy experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of upper extremity anatomy, hand therapy techniques, splint fabrication, and orthopedic rehabilitation
  • Excellent communication, documentation, critical-thinking, and organizational skills
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered rehabilitation care
