Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to evaluate and treat patients with physical, neurological, cognitive, and developmental conditions. The Occupational Therapist will develop individualized treatment plans, provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to improve patients' independence, functional abilities, and overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations to assess physical, cognitive, sensory, and functional abilities
- Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and rehabilitation goals
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), upper extremity function, fine motor skills, coordination, balance, and cognition
- Recommend, fit, and educate patients on the use of adaptive equipment, splints, orthotics, and assistive devices
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, adaptive techniques, energy conservation, joint protection, and fall prevention
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans to maximize functional outcomes
- Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, nurses, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning, discharge planning, and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Promote patient independence and participation in meaningful daily activities through compassionate, patient-centered care
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the state of practice
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current NBCOT certification required (where applicable)
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Occupational Therapist experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles, rehabilitation techniques, anatomy, and evidence-based practice
- Excellent communication, documentation, critical-thinking, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
- Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered rehabilitation care
