Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to evaluate and treat patients with physical, cognitive, neurological, developmental, and psychosocial conditions. The Occupational Therapist will develop individualized treatment plans, provide therapeutic interventions, and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to improve functional independence, restore daily living skills, and enhance patients' overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations to assess physical, cognitive, sensory, and functional abilities
- Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and rehabilitation goals
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), upper extremity function, coordination, balance, cognition, and fine motor skills
- Recommend, fit, and train patients in the use of adaptive equipment, splints, orthotics, and assistive devices
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home exercise programs, adaptive techniques, energy conservation, joint protection, and fall prevention
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans to maximize functional outcomes
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning, discharge planning, and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, HIPAA regulations, and facility policies
- Promote patient independence and participation in meaningful daily activities through compassionate, patient-centered care
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the state of practice
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current NBCOT Certification required (where applicable)
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Occupational Therapist experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles, rehabilitation techniques, anatomy, and evidence-based practice
- Excellent communication, documentation, critical-thinking, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered rehabilitation care
