Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Operating Room Surgical Technologist (OR Surgical Tech) to assist surgeons and the surgical team during operative procedures. The Surgical Technologist will prepare the operating room, maintain sterile technique, manage surgical instruments and supplies, and help ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout the perioperative process.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by setting up instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies.
  • Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures.
  • Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies during surgery.
  • Perform surgical counts of instruments, sponges, and sharps according to protocol.
  • Prepare, inspect, and operate surgical equipment and specialty instruments.
  • Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and draping.
  • Handle and label surgical specimens according to established procedures.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Clean, restock, and prepare operating rooms for subsequent procedures.
  • Document surgical activities as required and comply with infection prevention, patient safety, HIPAA, and facility policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through NBSTSA preferred or required based on facility requirements.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room Surgical Technologist experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterile technique, aseptic practices, and perioperative procedures.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential.
  • Experience in multiple surgical specialties, including orthopedic, general, cardiovascular, neurosurgery, ENT, urology, gynecology, or robotic surgery.
  • Previous experience in an acute care hospital or ambulatory surgery center.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.

Pay Rate
$45.22 - $50.10/hour
