Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Summary

Provide skilled nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Prepare patients and the operating room, support surgical teams, maintain patient safety, and coordinate care throughout the perioperative process.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and prepare patients before surgical procedures.
  • Verify patient information, surgical procedure, and required documentation.
  • Assist with patient positioning, surgical preparation, and anesthesia procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and sterile operating environment.
  • Serve as circulating nurse and assist the surgical team during procedures.
  • Monitor patient status and respond to changes or emergencies.
  • Coordinate surgical supplies, instruments, medications, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely perioperative documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Follow infection-control, patient safety, and perioperative standards.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current and active RN license in the applicable state.
  • Previous Operating Room or perioperative nursing experience preferred.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or as applicable.
  • Strong clinical, organizational, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Pay Rate
$60.47 - $65.35/hour
