OR RN – Surgery Center
Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures in an ambulatory surgery center. The OR RN will prepare patients and the operating room, coordinate surgical activities, maintain patient safety, and support the surgical team throughout procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform preoperative patient assessments and review medical history and surgical plans.
- Prepare the operating room, equipment, instruments, and supplies for scheduled procedures.
- Serve as circulating RN and coordinate activities within the operating room.
- Maintain sterile technique and support safe surgical practices.
- Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and surgical draping.
- Perform surgical counts of instruments, sponges, needles, and supplies.
- Monitor patient safety and respond promptly to changes in condition.
- Handle and document surgical specimens according to established protocols.
- Complete accurate perioperative documentation and assist with room turnover.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Previous Operating Room or perioperative nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and OR safety.
- BLS certification required; CNOR certification preferred.
- Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Pay Rate
$56.66 - $61.53/hour
