Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) – Circulator to coordinate patient care throughout the perioperative process. The OR Circulator RN will ensure patient safety, maintain a sterile surgical environment, collaborate with the surgical team, and provide high-quality care before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures
  • Perform preoperative patient assessments and verify surgical consent, site, and procedure
  • Prepare the operating room with appropriate equipment, supplies, and medications
  • Maintain a safe, sterile environment and ensure adherence to aseptic techniques
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other team members during procedures
  • Monitor patient condition throughout surgery and respond to changes as needed
  • Document perioperative care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts with the surgical technologist according to policy
  • Advocate for patient safety and ensure compliance with infection prevention and regulatory standards
  • Participate in on-call coverage and emergency surgical procedures as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ASN or BSN preferred)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) circulator experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices, sterile technique, and surgical procedures
  • Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment

Pay Rate
$70,000.00 - $119,000.00/year
