OR Nurse

Provide specialized nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. The OR Nurse will support the surgical team, maintain patient safety, coordinate operating room activities, and ensure procedures are performed efficiently and according to established standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preoperative patient assessments and verify surgical information.
  • Prepare the operating room, equipment, supplies, and medications.
  • Position patients safely and maintain appropriate surgical precautions.
  • Monitor patient status throughout surgical procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and sterile environment in collaboration with the surgical team.
  • Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other staff.
  • Perform surgical counts and ensure proper specimen handling.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and obtain required supplies or equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely intraoperative documentation.
  • Assist with postoperative patient transfer and handoff.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Previous Operating Room/Perioperative nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and patient safety practices.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Pay Rate
$64.28 - $69.16/hour
