Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR) to provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures. The OR Nurse will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout the surgical experience.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to surgical patients throughout the perioperative process.
  • Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies.
  • Verify patient identity, surgical site, and procedure according to established safety protocols.
  • Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Function as a circulating nurse and assist the surgical team during procedures.
  • Monitor patient condition throughout surgery and respond to changes appropriately.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other treatments as prescribed.
  • Maintain accurate surgical documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, PACU staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, AORN standards, HIPAA regulations, and facility policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Current ACLS certification preferred or required based on facility requirements.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices, sterile technique, surgical procedures, and patient safety.
  • Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.

Pay Rate
$64.28 - $69.16/hour
