Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Cath Lab / Angiography Technologist to assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. The technologist will operate imaging equipment, prepare patients and procedure rooms, monitor patient status, and ensure the safe and efficient delivery of care in the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the cardiac catheterization laboratory, equipment, and sterile supplies for procedures
- Assist physicians during diagnostic cardiac catheterizations, coronary angiography, angioplasty (PCI), peripheral vascular, and other interventional procedures
- Operate fluoroscopy, digital angiography, and hemodynamic monitoring systems
- Monitor patient vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and hemodynamic status throughout procedures
- Prepare and administer contrast media as permitted by scope of practice
- Maintain sterile technique and assist with patient positioning and procedural setup
- Recognize and respond to emergency situations during procedures
- Document procedural data accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and hemodynamic recording systems
- Perform routine equipment quality checks and report maintenance concerns
- Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety, infection prevention, HIPAA, and departmental policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and on-call coverage as required
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or related allied health program
- Active ARRT (R), RCIS, RCES, or equivalent credential required or preferred based on assignment
- Active state license required where applicable
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required or obtained within the timeframe specified by the facility
- Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Cath Lab or Angiography experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, angiographic procedures, sterile technique, radiation safety, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Experience with fluoroscopy, digital imaging systems, and contrast administration
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and organizational skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
