Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to provide perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures. The OR RN will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout the surgical process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and immediate postoperative nursing care.
- Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
- Serve as the circulating nurse during surgical procedures while maintaining a sterile environment.
- Monitor patient safety, positioning, and physiological status throughout surgery.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments.
- Assist surgeons and anesthesia providers during surgical procedures.
- Perform surgical counts of instruments, needles, and sponges according to established protocols.
- Respond promptly to surgical emergencies and changes in patient condition.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, PACU staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, AORN standards, patient safety guidelines, and facility policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Current ACLS certification preferred or required based on facility requirements.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing, sterile technique, surgical procedures, instrumentation, and patient safety standards.
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Pay Rate
$69.61 - $74.49/hour
