Job Description:
THIS ASSIGNMENT REQUIRES A HIGHLY SKILLED & EXPERIENCED SURG TECH WITH A WIDE LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE WITH ORTHO, NEURO, VASCULAR, ETC. CANDIDATES THAT LACK A FULL BREADTH OF CURRENT EXPERIENCE WILL NOT RECEIVE CONSIDERATION.
ST will work 36-40 hours/week (weekly total and start and end times are negotiable), with approximately every 2nd or 3rd weekend as a call weekend and 1-2 Calls per week. Based upon department need and potential changes in staffing, the call volume could increase. The call requirements will mirror what the Vascular Scrub Team takes week to week. All call requires a 30-minute response time. This occurs from the time of the call, to arriving on site. Also, possible Holiday call rotation may be required if a holiday falls within the ST’s contract. This rotation is based on current patient census and staffing, so some variability could be possible to this rotation if census/staffing experiences a significant change. In times of low census/high demand, the ST will be required to float to General OR and/or the Outpatient Surgery Center (across the street).
Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited surgical technology program. BLS required. CST preferred but not required. Excellent critical thinking and knowledge of central processing and instrumentation required.
