Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to evaluate, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans that help patients regain independence and improve their ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs). The Occupational Therapist will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote recovery, restore function, and enhance patients' overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients' physical, cognitive, sensory, and functional abilities
- Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve activities of daily living (ADLs), fine motor skills, upper extremity function, coordination, balance, and cognitive performance
- Assess and recommend adaptive equipment, splints, and assistive devices
- Train patients in the use of adaptive equipment and compensatory techniques
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home exercise programs, safety techniques, and functional independence
- Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Active, unrestricted Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the state of practice
- Current NBCOT certification required where applicable
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent occupational therapy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of rehabilitation principles, patient assessment, adaptive equipment, splinting, and treatment planning
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient therapy, skilled nursing, home health, orthopedic, neurological, pediatric, or geriatric settings
- Previous travel or contract therapy experience preferred
- Experience treating orthopedic, neurological, cardiac, and post-surgical patient populations
- Specialty certifications in Hand Therapy (CHT), Geriatrics, Neurological Rehabilitation, or other practice areas preferred
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and patient-centered care skills
Pay Rate
$56.48 - $61.36/hour
