Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to evaluate, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans that help patients regain or improve the skills needed for daily living and functional independence. The Occupational Therapist will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to enhance patient recovery, safety, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients' physical, cognitive, sensory, and functional abilities
- Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, coordination, strength, and fine motor skills
- Train patients in the use of adaptive equipment, assistive devices, and compensatory techniques
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, safety techniques, and functional independence
- Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a safe treatment environment
- Follow infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Active, unrestricted Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the state of practice
- Current NBCOT certification required where applicable
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent occupational therapy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of rehabilitation techniques, adaptive equipment, patient assessment, and treatment planning
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient therapy, skilled nursing, home health, orthopedic, neurological, pediatric, or geriatric settings
- Previous travel or contract therapy experience preferred
- Specialty certifications in hand therapy, neurological rehabilitation, or geriatrics preferred
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and patient-centered care skills
- Ability to manage a diverse patient caseload in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Pay Rate
$58.18 - $63.06/hour
