Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to evaluate, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans for patients recovering from injury, illness, surgery, or disability. The Occupational Therapist will help patients regain functional independence, improve activities of daily living (ADLs), and enhance their overall quality of life through evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve activities of daily living (ADLs), upper extremity function, coordination, strength, and cognitive abilities
- Assess fine motor skills, range of motion, sensory processing, and functional mobility
- Recommend and train patients in the use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home exercise programs, adaptive techniques, and safety strategies
- Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a clean, safe treatment environment
- Follow infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Active, unrestricted Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the state of practice
- Current NBCOT certification required (where applicable)
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Occupational Therapy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of rehabilitation principles, therapeutic interventions, adaptive equipment, and patient-centered care
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient therapy, skilled nursing facilities (SNF), home health, orthopedic, neurological, pediatric, or geriatric settings
- Experience treating post-surgical, neurological, orthopedic, or medically complex patients
- Previous travel or contract therapy experience preferred
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and patient education skills
- Ability to manage a diverse patient caseload in a fast-paced environment
Pay Rate
$47.36 - $52.24/hour
