Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Obstetrics Registered Nurse (OB RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care for pregnant patients, mothers, and newborns throughout the antepartum, labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care continuum as appropriate. The OB RN will collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, pediatric providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, high-quality, family-centered care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for obstetric patients and newborns.
  • Monitor maternal and fetal well-being using fetal heart monitoring and other assessment tools.
  • Provide care during antepartum, labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn recovery as assigned.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments.
  • Assist physicians and certified nurse midwives during deliveries and obstetric procedures.
  • Recognize and respond promptly to maternal, fetal, and neonatal emergencies.
  • Provide newborn assessments, routine newborn care, and support breastfeeding and maternal recovery.
  • Educate patients and families regarding pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, newborn care, medications, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, anesthesiologists, lactation consultants, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Current ACLS certification required.
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification preferred or required based on facility requirements.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Obstetrics, Labor & Delivery, Mother-Baby, or Women's Health nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of obstetric nursing, maternal assessment, fetal monitoring, newborn care, and postpartum management.
  • Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.

Pay Rate
$51.32 - $56.20/hour
