Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Obstetrics & Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (OB/L&D RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care for women throughout labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care. The RN will monitor maternal and fetal well-being, assist during deliveries, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, monitor, and care for patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the immediate postpartum period.
  • Monitor maternal and fetal status using fetal heart monitoring and other assessment tools.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, epidurals, oxytocin, and other prescribed treatments.
  • Assist physicians and certified nurse midwives during vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
  • Provide newborn assessments, stabilization, and routine newborn care.
  • Recognize and respond promptly to obstetric emergencies, including fetal distress and postpartum hemorrhage.
  • Educate patients and families on labor, childbirth, breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, pediatricians, lactation consultants, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Current ACLS certification required.
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
  • Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification preferred or required based on facility requirements.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery and/or Obstetric nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of maternal-child nursing, fetal monitoring, obstetric emergencies, and newborn care.
  • Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Mother-Baby, or Women's Health units.
  • Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) preferred.
  • Previous travel or contract nursing experience preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity obstetric environment.
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, family-centered care.

Pay Rate
$75.71 - $80.59/hour
