Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Obstetrics & Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (OB/L&D RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care for women throughout labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care. The RN will monitor maternal and fetal well-being, assist during deliveries, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, monitor, and care for patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the immediate postpartum period.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using fetal heart monitoring and other assessment tools.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, epidurals, oxytocin, and other prescribed treatments.
- Assist physicians and certified nurse midwives during vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
- Provide newborn assessments, stabilization, and routine newborn care.
- Recognize and respond promptly to obstetric emergencies, including fetal distress and postpartum hemorrhage.
- Educate patients and families on labor, childbirth, breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, pediatricians, lactation consultants, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Current ACLS certification required.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
- Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification preferred or required based on facility requirements.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery and/or Obstetric nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of maternal-child nursing, fetal monitoring, obstetric emergencies, and newborn care.
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Mother-Baby, or Women's Health units.
- Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) preferred.
- Previous travel or contract nursing experience preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity obstetric environment.

Pay Rate
$75.71 - $80.59/hour
