Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR) to provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures. The OR RN will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team to ensure a safe, sterile, and efficient operating room environment while delivering exceptional patient care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative nursing care for surgical patients
  • Prepare operating rooms with appropriate instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies
  • Circulate during surgical procedures and maintain a sterile, safe operating environment
  • Assist the surgical team by anticipating procedural needs and ensuring equipment readiness
  • Verify patient identity, surgical site, and procedure according to established safety protocols
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products as prescribed
  • Monitor patient condition throughout surgery and communicate changes to the surgical team
  • Maintain accurate surgical documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Ensure compliance with aseptic technique, infection prevention standards, HIPAA regulations, and patient safety policies
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and recovery room staff to coordinate patient care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist with on-call surgical coverage as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
  • Current BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification preferred or required based on assignment
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) nursing experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing, sterile technique, surgical procedures, and patient safety standards
  • Experience circulating a variety of surgical specialties preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational, critical-thinking, and teamwork skills
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred

Pay Rate
$69.61 - $74.49/hour
