Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Technician (MT/MLT)
Position Summary
Perform laboratory testing to support the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patients. Ensure accurate results through proper specimen handling, testing procedures, quality control, and compliance with laboratory standards.
Responsibilities
- Collect, receive, and process patient specimens according to established procedures.
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing as assigned.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Perform quality control testing and troubleshoot results or equipment issues.
- Review and verify test results for accuracy and completeness.
- Report critical or abnormal results promptly to appropriate healthcare staff.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
- Follow infection-control, safety, and laboratory standards.
- Assist with inventory management and maintain adequate laboratory supplies.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support patient care.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field for MLT; Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science for MT/MLS.
- Current laboratory certification such as ASCP or equivalent, as applicable.
- State licensure or registration, if required.
- Previous clinical laboratory experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical, technical, and organizational skills.
Pay Rate
$45.22 - $50.10/hour
