Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) to provide high-quality nursing care for adult patients with a variety of medical conditions, chronic illnesses, and post-operative needs. The Med/Surg RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote safe, effective, and patient-centered outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
- Provide direct nursing care to medical, surgical, and post-operative patients.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatment, reporting significant changes promptly.
- Perform wound care, dressing changes, catheter care, and other nursing procedures.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge planning.
- Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
- Current BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification preferred or required based on facility requirements.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing, medication administration, patient assessment, and clinical documentation.
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Pay Rate
$52.85 - $57.72/hour
