Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele) to provide high-quality nursing care for adult patients requiring medical-surgical treatment and continuous cardiac monitoring. The RN will assess patient conditions, administer treatments, monitor cardiac rhythms, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans
- Provide direct nursing care for medical-surgical and telemetry patients
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and patient responses to treatment
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and cardiac emergencies
- Interpret telemetry rhythms and report significant findings
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge planning
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
- Current BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification preferred or required based on facility requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of telemetry monitoring, medication administration, patient assessment, and acute care nursing
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN preferred
- CMSRN, PCCN, or MEDSURG-BC certification preferred
- Previous travel or contract nursing experience preferred
- Experience caring for patients with cardiac, respiratory, and complex medical conditions
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and patient education skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as required
Pay Rate
$64.28 - $69.16/hour
