Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to perform high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions. The MRI Technologist will ensure patient safety, operate MRI equipment, administer contrast media when appropriate, and collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI examinations according to physician orders and established imaging protocols
- Prepare, position, and educate patients for MRI procedures while ensuring comfort and safety
- Screen patients for MRI safety, including implants, devices, and contraindications
- Administer contrast media as prescribed and monitor patients for adverse reactions
- Operate MRI scanners to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
- Review images for quality and completeness before submission for radiologist interpretation
- Monitor and maintain MRI equipment, reporting malfunctions as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), RIS, and PACS
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Ensure compliance with MRI safety guidelines, infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, and facility policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program
- Active Radiologic Technologist license in the state of practice, where required
- Current ARRT (R) certification required
- Current ARRT (MR) certification or ARMRIT certification required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent MRI experience preferred
- Experience administering MRI contrast agents and monitoring patient safety
- Strong knowledge of MRI anatomy, imaging protocols, cross-sectional anatomy, and MRI safety standards
- Experience with PACS, RIS, and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
- Excellent communication, organizational, and patient care skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in acute care hospitals, outpatient imaging centers, or specialty imaging facilities
- Experience performing neurological, musculoskeletal, spine, abdominal, cardiac, breast, and vascular MRI examinations
- Previous travel or contract imaging experience preferred
- MRI safety certification or advanced MRI training preferred
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as required
Pay Rate
$64.28 - $69.16/hour
