Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused MRI Technologist to perform high-quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures for diagnostic purposes. The MRI Technologist will ensure patient safety, operate advanced MRI equipment, administer contrast agents when appropriate, and collaborate with radiologists and healthcare teams to deliver accurate and timely imaging services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI examinations according to physician orders and established imaging protocols
- Screen patients for MRI safety, explain procedures, and obtain relevant medical history
- Position patients appropriately to obtain optimal diagnostic images while ensuring comfort and safety
- Operate MRI scanners and adjust imaging parameters to produce high-quality diagnostic images
- Administer contrast media when appropriate and monitor patients for adverse reactions
- Continuously monitor patients during imaging procedures and respond to emergency situations as needed
- Review completed images for quality, accuracy, and completeness before submission to the radiologist
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR), PACS, and RIS systems
- Perform routine equipment quality assurance checks and report equipment malfunctions promptly
- Maintain MRI suite cleanliness and ensure compliance with MRI safety standards and infection prevention protocols
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, departmental policies, and accreditation standards
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Active ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and MRI [ARRT (MR)] or equivalent certification as required
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- State Radiologic Technologist license, if required by the state of practice
- Minimum 1 year of recent MRI Technologist experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of MRI imaging principles, anatomy, physiology, patient positioning, and MRI safety practices
- Experience administering contrast media in accordance with facility policies and state regulations
- Excellent communication, organizational, critical-thinking, and patient care skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Experience with EMR, PACS, and RIS systems preferred
- Commitment to delivering safe, accurate, and patient-centered imaging services
Pay Rate
$79.74 - $84.62/hour
