Medical Laboratory Technician / Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLT/MLS)
Position Summary
Perform laboratory testing and analysis of patient specimens to support accurate diagnosis and treatment. Ensure test results are reliable, timely, and documented according to quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Collect, receive, process, and prepare patient specimens for testing.
- Perform laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and urinalysis.
- Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and analyzers.
- Perform quality control testing and follow laboratory procedures.
- Review and verify test results before reporting.
- Identify and report critical or abnormal results appropriately.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
- Monitor supplies, reagents, and specimen inventory.
- Follow infection-control, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support patient care.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Current MLT/MLS certification or license as required by the applicable state.
- ASCP or equivalent certification preferred/required as applicable.
- Previous clinical laboratory experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Pay Rate
$56.66 - $61.53/hour
