Medical Laboratory Scientist / Medical Laboratory Technician (MLS/MLT)
Perform laboratory testing to support the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patients. The MLS/MLT will process specimens, perform testing across multiple laboratory departments, maintain equipment, and ensure accurate and timely results.
Responsibilities
- Collect, receive, process, and prepare patient specimens for testing.
- Perform laboratory testing in areas such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, urinalysis, and blood bank as assigned.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Perform quality control procedures and troubleshoot testing issues.
- Review and verify test results for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify and report abnormal or critical results according to established protocols.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
- Follow laboratory safety, infection control, and quality standards.
- Monitor supplies and assist with inventory management.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Current MLS/MLT certification and state license, as required.
- ASCP or equivalent certification preferred/required as applicable.
- Previous clinical laboratory experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Pay Rate
$49.03 - $53.91/hour
