Mental Health Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Summary

Provide compassionate nursing care to patients experiencing mental health and behavioral health conditions. Assess patient needs, administer medications and treatments, monitor mental and physical status, and support individualized treatment plans in a safe therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive mental health and nursing assessments.
  • Monitor patients for changes in mental, emotional, and physical condition.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention and respond appropriately to behavioral emergencies.
  • Support therapeutic activities and promote a safe, respectful environment.
  • Educate patients and families on medications, treatment plans, and coping strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Communicate patient status and concerns to physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Follow patient safety, infection-control, and behavioral health standards.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current and active RN license in the applicable state.
  • Previous psychiatric, behavioral health, or mental health nursing experience preferred.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Strong assessment, communication, crisis-management, and patient-care skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients experiencing diverse mental health and behavioral conditions.

Pay Rate
$62.75 - $67.63/hour
