Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Med/Surg Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with medical and post-surgical conditions. The RN will assess patient needs, administer medications and treatments, monitor clinical status, provide education, and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Monitor vital signs, pain, neurological status, oxygenation, and changes in patient condition.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments.
- Provide wound care, catheter care, drain management, and other nursing interventions.
- Monitor laboratory and diagnostic results and communicate significant changes to providers.
- Recognize and respond promptly to patient deterioration and medical emergencies.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, procedures, and discharge planning.
- Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, disease management, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and organizational policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of adult medical-surgical nursing, patient assessment, medication administration, and care planning.
- Excellent clinical judgment, critical-thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Experience with EMR systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN preferred.
- Previous acute-care hospital experience.
- Experience caring for medical, post-surgical, orthopedic, cardiac, respiratory, and medically complex patients.
- ACLS certification preferred based on patient population.
- Strong patient education and discharge planning skills.
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
Pay Rate
$55.89 - $60.77/hour
