Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (Med/Surg RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care for adult patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
- Provide direct nursing care for patients with acute medical, post-operative, and chronic health conditions.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments.
- Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, and response to treatment, promptly reporting significant changes.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and patient education.
- Perform wound care, dressing changes, catheter care, and other nursing procedures.
- Educate patients and families on medications, disease management, discharge instructions, and health maintenance.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
- Current BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification preferred or required based on facility requirements.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing, medication administration, patient assessment, and post-operative care.
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification (CMSRN) preferred.
- Experience caring for patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses in an acute care setting.
- Previous travel or contract nursing experience preferred.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
Pay Rate
$41.41 - $46.29/hour
