Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to perform routine laboratory testing that supports the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. The MLT will analyze patient specimens, operate laboratory equipment, maintain quality standards, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure accurate and timely test results.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine laboratory testing in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, urinalysis, blood bank, and coagulation as assigned
  • Collect, receive, process, and prepare patient specimens for analysis
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
  • Analyze and verify test results while ensuring accuracy and quality
  • Perform quality control procedures and troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Document test results accurately in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Follow laboratory safety procedures, infection prevention standards, and regulatory guidelines
  • Communicate critical test results promptly according to laboratory protocols
  • Maintain laboratory inventory and ensure proper handling and storage of specimens and supplies
  • Collaborate with pathologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related laboratory science program
  • Active MLT certification through ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification agency preferred or required based on state regulations
  • Active state laboratory license where required
  • Current BLS certification preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of recent clinical laboratory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, quality control, specimen processing, and laboratory safety
  • Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Pay Rate
$51.26 - $56.14/hour
