Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to perform routine and complex laboratory testing that supports the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. The MLT will analyze patient specimens, operate laboratory instrumentation, ensure quality control, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver accurate and timely laboratory results.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory testing in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, coagulation, urinalysis, and blood bank according to established procedures
  • Collect, process, prepare, and analyze patient specimens accurately and efficiently
  • Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment
  • Perform quality control procedures and verify the accuracy of test results
  • Review, document, and report laboratory findings promptly and accurately
  • Recognize abnormal or critical results and notify appropriate healthcare providers according to established protocols
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Adhere to CLIA, CAP, OSHA, HIPAA, and infection prevention standards
  • Maintain laboratory inventory and ensure proper handling and storage of specimens and reagents
  • Collaborate with pathologists, laboratory scientists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited program
  • Current ASCP (MLT), AMT, or equivalent Medical Laboratory Technician certification required
  • Active state licensure where required
  • Current BLS certification preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of recent clinical laboratory experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, quality control, specimen processing, and laboratory safety
  • Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in acute care hospitals, reference laboratories, or outpatient laboratory settings
  • Experience in multiple laboratory disciplines, including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and blood bank
  • Previous travel or contract laboratory experience preferred
  • Familiarity with automated laboratory analyzers and diagnostic equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality laboratory results
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Pay Rate
$45.22 - $50.10/hour
