Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician (Generalist) to perform routine and complex laboratory testing across multiple disciplines, including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, coagulation, urinalysis, and blood banking. The Medical Laboratory Technician will ensure accurate and timely test results that support patient diagnosis and treatment while maintaining compliance with laboratory quality and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory testing in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, coagulation, urinalysis, and blood bank according to established procedures.
  • Collect, process, and analyze patient specimens while ensuring specimen integrity.
  • Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Review and verify test results for accuracy before reporting.
  • Perform quality control and quality assurance procedures in accordance with laboratory standards.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and patient records in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Adhere to CLIA, CAP, OSHA, infection prevention, and laboratory safety guidelines.
  • Communicate critical laboratory results promptly to appropriate healthcare providers.
  • Collaborate with pathologists, physicians, nurses, and laboratory staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related laboratory science from an accredited program.
  • Active ASCP Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification or equivalent preferred or required based on facility requirements.
  • State laboratory license if required.
  • Current BLS certification preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent clinical laboratory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, instrumentation, quality control, and specimen handling.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.

Pay Rate
$45.22 - $50.10/hour
