Medical Assistant

Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Medical Assistant (MA) to support clinical and administrative operations in a healthcare setting. The Medical Assistant will assist providers with patient care, perform clinical procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure efficient day-to-day clinic operations. This role requires strong patient interaction skills, organizational abilities, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform patient intake including recording vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during procedures
• Administer injections, immunizations, and medications as directed by providers
• Perform basic clinical procedures such as EKGs, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing
• Manage patient flow, room assignments, and appointment coordination
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
• Handle administrative tasks including scheduling, phone calls, and patient follow-ups
• Maintain exam rooms, medical equipment, and inventory of supplies
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety standards, and HIPAA regulations
• Provide patient education and instructions as directed by healthcare providers

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred
• Minimum 1 year of clinical or administrative experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
• Experience with EMR systems preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment
• BLS certification preferred
