Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry to provide high-quality nursing care for adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. The RN will assess patients, administer treatments, monitor telemetry, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans
- Provide care for medical-surgical patients requiring telemetry monitoring
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, laboratory results, and patient responses to treatment
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments
- Recognize and respond promptly to cardiac rhythm changes and patient emergencies
- Coordinate admissions, transfers, discharges, and patient education
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
- Current BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification required or preferred based on assignment
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of telemetry monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation, medication administration, and patient assessment
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN preferred
- CMSRN, PCCN, or MEDSURG-BC certification preferred
- NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
- Previous travel or contract nursing experience preferred
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and patient education skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as required
Pay Rate
$59.71 - $64.58/hour
