Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical / eICU to provide high-quality nursing care for adult medical-surgical patients while supporting enhanced patient monitoring through the electronic Intensive Care Unit (eICU) model. The RN will assess patient conditions, administer treatments, monitor patient status, collaborate with bedside and virtual care teams, and ensure safe, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans
- Provide direct nursing care for medical-surgical patients with varying levels of acuity
- Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, laboratory results, and telemetry data, escalating concerns as appropriate
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments
- Provide wound care, post-operative care, pain management, and patient education
- Collaborate with bedside providers, physicians, and the eICU team to support timely clinical interventions
- Utilize electronic monitoring systems to recognize and communicate changes in patient status
- Assist with discharge planning and patient care coordination
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, and patient safety standards
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred or required based on assignment
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical, Progressive Care, Telemetry, or ICU nursing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing, patient assessment, telemetry monitoring, and critical care principles
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and electronic patient monitoring systems
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment
