Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) to provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical conditions and post-surgical needs. The RN will assess patient conditions, administer treatments, coordinate care, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote safe recovery and positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans
- Provide nursing care for medical and post-surgical patients
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments
- Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, laboratory results, and responses to treatment
- Perform wound care, dressing changes, pain management, and post-operative care
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, and discharge planning
- Educate patients and families on medications, treatment plans, recovery, and disease management
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and quality improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred or required based on assignment
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of patient assessment, medication administration, post-operative care, and medical-surgical nursing practices
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment
