Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Materials Supply Specialist to support the ordering, receiving, storage, inventory management, and distribution of medical supplies and equipment. The specialist will ensure clinical departments have the appropriate supplies available when needed while maintaining accurate inventory records and efficient supply processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and organize medical supplies and equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and monitor stock usage.
- Pick, prepare, and deliver supplies to clinical and administrative departments.
- Process supply requests, purchase orders, and replenishment needs.
- Track inventory movement and maintain accurate records in inventory management systems.
- Monitor expiration dates, lot numbers, and product conditions.
- Rotate stock using appropriate inventory control practices.
- Identify shortages, overstock, damaged items, and supply discrepancies.
- Maintain clean, organized, and secure storage areas.
- Coordinate with vendors and purchasing teams regarding orders, deliveries, and product issues.
- Support inventory counts and periodic audits.
- Follow infection prevention, safety, HIPAA, and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with nursing, operating room, laboratory, pharmacy, and other departments to meet supply needs.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous materials management, supply chain, inventory, or healthcare supply experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical supplies, equipment, and inventory procedures preferred.
- Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to accurately maintain inventory records and documentation.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift, move, and transport supplies as required.
- Proficiency with computer systems and inventory management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous hospital or healthcare materials management experience.
- Experience with medical supply distribution and inventory control.
- Familiarity with ERP, purchasing, or inventory management systems.
- Experience with barcode scanning and automated inventory systems.
- Knowledge of healthcare supply chain procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
Pay Rate
$37.60 - $42.48/hour
