Mammographer
Position Summary
Perform specialized mammography examinations to support the early detection and diagnosis of breast conditions. Operate mammography equipment safely, obtain high-quality images, and provide compassionate care while maintaining patient comfort and privacy.
Responsibilities
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures according to established protocols.
- Prepare, position, and educate patients throughout examinations.
- Operate mammography equipment safely and effectively.
- Obtain high-quality images using appropriate positioning and technique.
- Review images for quality and ensure required views are completed.
- Follow radiation safety and ALARA principles.
- Maintain accurate and timely imaging documentation.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report technical issues.
- Follow infection-control, patient safety, and imaging standards.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or Mammography program.
- ARRT certification in Radiography and Mammography (R.T.(R)(M)) preferred or required as applicable.
- Current state radiologic technologist license, if required.
- Previous mammography experience preferred.
- Strong technical, communication, patient-care, and attention-to-detail skills.
Pay Rate
$71.90 - $76.78/hour
