Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. The RN will monitor telemetry, administer medications and treatments, assess patient conditions, and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, oxygenation, neurological status, and changes in patient condition.
- Provide continuous telemetry monitoring and recognize abnormal cardiac rhythms.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments.
- Provide wound care, catheter care, drain management, and other nursing interventions.
- Monitor laboratory and diagnostic results and communicate significant changes to providers.
- Recognize and respond promptly to clinical deterioration and emergencies.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, procedures, and discharge planning.
- Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, disease management, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and organizational policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Current ACLS certification preferred/required based on assignment requirements.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry, acute-care, or hospital nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing, cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and medication administration.
- Excellent clinical judgment, critical-thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Experience with EMR systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN preferred.
- Previous Med/Surg, Telemetry, Step-Down, or acute-care hospital experience.
- Experience caring for cardiac, respiratory, post-surgical, and medically complex patients.
- Experience with telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring.
- ACLS certification preferred.
- Strong patient education and discharge planning skills.
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
Pay Rate
$70.38 - $75.25/hour
