Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Outpatient to provide direct nursing care in an outpatient clinic setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician. The LPN will assist with patient assessments, administer medications and treatments, support clinical procedures, and ensure efficient patient flow while delivering exceptional patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with physician orders and established care plans
- Obtain and document patient medical histories, vital signs, and chief complaints
- Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and prescribed treatments
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with examinations and minor procedures
- Perform specimen collection, wound care, dressing changes, and other clinical procedures within the LPN scope of practice
- Prepare examination rooms and maintain clinical supplies and equipment
- Educate patients on medications, treatments, preventive care, and follow-up instructions
- Coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and follow-up care as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians, RNs, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
- Active, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent outpatient, clinic, primary care, or ambulatory care experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of medication administration, clinical procedures, and patient assessment
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, specialty clinics, urgent care, or ambulatory care settings
- Previous travel or contract nursing experience preferred
- IV therapy certification where permitted by state regulations
- Experience with phlebotomy, immunizations, and point-of-care testing preferred
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and patient-centered care skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced outpatient environment
Pay Rate
$80,000.00 - $90,000.00/year
