Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Corrections
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide quality nursing care in a correctional facility. The LPN will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician to deliver patient care, administer medications, monitor inmate health, and ensure compliance with facility policies and healthcare standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to inmates in a correctional setting.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and report changes to the RN or provider.
- Perform routine nursing procedures, including vital signs, wound care, and specimen collection.
- Respond to medical emergencies and assist with emergency interventions.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
- Educate patients on medications, treatments, and health-related concerns.
- Follow infection control, safety, and correctional facility policies.
- Collaborate with physicians, RNs, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
- Current AHA BLS Certification.
- Minimum 1 year of recent LPN experience (correctional experience preferred but not required).
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a secure, fast-paced correctional environment.
- Knowledge of medication administration and electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
Pay Rate
$37.48 - $42.36/hour
