Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Job Description

Position Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician. The LPN is responsible for administering medications, monitoring patient conditions, documenting care, assisting with treatments and procedures, and supporting patients with activities of daily living. The LPN works collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care and a safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

  • Monitor and document patient conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatment.

  • Assist with patient assessments and care planning.

  • Provide wound care, dressing changes, and other nursing procedures.

  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation.

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members.

  • Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory guidelines.

  • Respond to patient needs and report changes in condition promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.

  • Active and unrestricted LPN/LVN license in the applicable state.

  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.

  • Previous clinical experience preferred but not always required.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Requirements:

  • Valid LPN/LVN license in good standing.

  • Ability to pass ********* *****, drug screening, and health clearance requirements.

  • Knowledge of nursing principles, patient care practices, and medical terminology.

  • Ability to lift, move, and assist patients as required.

  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Pay Rate
$25.89 - $30.77/hour
