Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP) to provide comprehensive nursing care for mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the postpartum period. The RN will monitor maternal and fetal well-being, assist during childbirth, provide postpartum and newborn care, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, family-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor maternal and fetal conditions throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans for obstetric patients
- Administer medications, IV therapies, epidural support, and other prescribed treatments
- Monitor fetal heart tracings and recognize changes requiring immediate intervention
- Assist physicians and certified nurse midwives during vaginal and cesarean deliveries
- Provide postpartum care, newborn assessments, and support breastfeeding and maternal education
- Respond promptly to obstetric and neonatal emergencies
- Educate patients and families on labor, childbirth, postpartum recovery, newborn care, breastfeeding, and discharge planning
- Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, anesthesiologists, lactation consultants, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Follow infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
- Current BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification required
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification required or obtained per facility policy
- Minimum 2 years of recent LDRP, Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, or Women's Health nursing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of obstetric nursing, fetal monitoring, maternal-newborn care, and emergency obstetric interventions
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
Pay Rate
$77.24 - $82.11/hour
