Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum Registered Nurse (LDRP RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care throughout the childbirth experience. The LDRP RN will care for mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, recovery, and the postpartum period while collaborating with obstetricians, midwives, pediatric providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum.
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being using fetal heart monitoring and other assessment tools.
- Assist physicians and certified nurse midwives during vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections as needed.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments.
- Provide immediate newborn assessments and routine newborn care.
- Educate patients and families on labor, childbirth, breastfeeding, newborn care, postpartum recovery, and discharge instructions.
- Recognize and respond promptly to maternal, fetal, and neonatal emergencies.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, lactation consultants, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Current ACLS certification required.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
- Fetal Monitoring certification preferred or required based on facility requirements.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery, LDRP, Mother-Baby, or Women's Health nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of obstetric nursing, fetal monitoring, postpartum care, newborn assessment, and maternal-child health.
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Pay Rate
$87.14 - $92.02/hour
