Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP) to provide comprehensive, family-centered nursing care throughout the childbirth process. The LDRP RN will care for mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum, ensuring safe, high-quality care while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, monitor, and provide nursing care during labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum.
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being using fetal heart monitoring and clinical assessments.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, oxytocin, epidurals, and other prescribed treatments.
- Assist physicians, certified nurse midwives, and obstetric providers during vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
- Provide immediate newborn assessments and routine newborn care.
- Recognize and respond promptly to maternal, fetal, or neonatal emergencies.
- Support breastfeeding education, newborn care, postpartum recovery, and family-centered care.
- Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum care, newborn care, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, pediatricians, lactation consultants, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Current ACLS certification required.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
- Fetal Monitoring certification or competency required or preferred based on facility requirements.
- Minimum 1–2 years of recent LDRP, Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, or Women's Health nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of obstetric nursing, maternal-newborn care, fetal monitoring, postpartum recovery, and neonatal assessment.
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Pay Rate
$60.47 - $65.35/hour
