Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technologist (MLT or MT) to perform routine and complex laboratory testing that supports accurate diagnosis and patient care. The Laboratory Technologist will analyze specimens, operate laboratory equipment, ensure quality control, and maintain compliance with laboratory standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory testing in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, blood bank, and urinalysis
- Collect, process, analyze, and accurately report patient specimens and test results
- Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
- Perform quality control procedures and ensure accuracy and reliability of test results
- Review and verify laboratory data before reporting results to healthcare providers
- Maintain accurate documentation and laboratory records in compliance with regulatory standards
- Follow laboratory safety protocols, infection prevention practices, and quality assurance procedures
- Collaborate with pathologists, physicians, and healthcare team members to support patient care
- Manage laboratory supplies, reagents, and inventory as needed
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science (MT/MLS) from an accredited program
- Active certification as an MLT or MT/MLS through ASCP or an equivalent certifying agency, if required by the state or facility
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, instrumentation, quality control, and safety standards
- Proficiency with laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment
Pay Rate
$45.22 - $50.10/hour
